Post Production

Editing

After the footage has been digitised and transferred, the editor will often work alone to produce the initial edit – often known as the ‘offline’ or 'craft' edit. This is where the footage and sound or narration is woven together to produce the story, which can be adapted if required and music added.

The editor will then liaise with the producer/director/client to begin to produce the ‘online’ edit. This is where the film is post produced with image enhancement and grading (including colour correcting), sound clean-up and music finishing, title sequences and credits. Animated sequences or special effects can be added here.

Current digital editing workflows means that these Post Production techniques can be applied at the ‘offline’ stage so often the editor will be at the 'craft' edit stage very early in the process, which allows to impact of the pieces to be assessed early in the production process.

Wiltshire Video has been editing and post producing for over ten years for a wide range of video projects in the corporate and private sectors.
